Job summary

Alamos Gold Inc. is seeking an IT professional for Island Gold in Dubreuilville, ON. The role focuses on evaluating and improving the mine's technology environment, coordinating with stakeholders, and managing IT projects to ensure reliable operations.

With a 7-days-on/7-days-off schedule, the position offers meals and accommodation on site, a travel allowance, and opportunities to implement cost-effective tech solutions while supporting safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• College degree or diploma in a related field with certification.
• Minimum 5 years of related work experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong knowledge of system and network operating systems.
• Knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards.
• Energetic, self-motivated with strong organizational skills.
• Able to communicate clearly with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate the current technical environment and identify gaps to propose reliable, cost-effective solutions.
• Review the infrastructure and recommend integrated solutions considering inter-site dependencies.
• Benchmark and report on IT infrastructure progress and ROI opportunities.
• Define business and system requirements for new technology implementations.
• Oversee vendor relationships and RFPs to ensure best-of-breed services and pricing.
• Serve as a key resource and local champion for corporate IT projects.
• Stay aware of industry trends and assess potential value for the mine.
• Support deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and upgrades of information systems.
