Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Structural Engineer to join the Energy and Resources team. You will design and analyze heavy industrial structures, underpinning mining and energy facilities across North America and beyond.

The role emphasizes leadership in design and mentoring EITs, with opportunities for hybrid work and global project exposure. A P.Eng license and 12–15 years in structural engineering are expected.

Qualifications

• P.Eng licensure in Canada or ability to obtain; provincial registration across western provinces an asset.
• Strong written and verbal communication; effective coordination and time management.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently on multiple projects.
• Extensive knowledge of structural design codes (NBC, CSA, CISC, ACI, AISC).
• Experience with mining surface/underground infrastructure projects is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understand and apply Stantec safety standards and health regulations.
• Perform structural design and analysis for heavy industrial mining and energy projects.
• Develop designs via sketches, hand calculations, and software models.
• Collaborate with engineers and designers to meet client needs.
• Interface with multidisciplinary teams to execute project plans.
