Job summary

Elk Valley Resources (EVR) is seeking a Mining Engineer for the Mid-Range team at Fording River Operations. The role supports engineering and projects with planning and stewardship of technical scopes in the active mine, coordinating with site departments to align critical work with operations.

The candidate should be self-motivated, possess strong communication skills, and be proficient with mine planning software, aiming for continuous improvement and effective decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering is required.
• Five+ years of mine planning experience.
• Professional Engineering designation recognized by EGBC is required.
• Strong digital literacy with mining-related software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Willing to undergo pre-employment drug screening and provide references.

Responsibilities

• Participate in health and safety programs and policies.
• Support mine predevelopment design, planning, and execution.
• Coordinate major mine infrastructure planning and stakeholder engagement.
• Track and sign off on waste rock treatment and related reviews.
• Plan Swift North Suboxic Zone projects and provide construction support.
• Liaise with design consultants, engineer-of-records, and qualified persons on projects.
• Coordinate with reclamation teams on major work near active mine areas.
• Assist in project budgeting and funding requests.
• Provide peer review of general engineering designs.
