Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work independently to develop mine plans which meet all safety, environmental, operating, and market quality objectives.
- Monitor the implementation of mine plans and evaluate existing mining operations for the purpose of recommending improvements.
- Actively represent Mine Planning in mine move task forces, continuous improvement teams, and other teams as the need is observed.
- Develop plans for disposal of tailings and other mineral waste materials.
- Develop reclamation plans in conjunction with the mine plans.
- Lead in the development of technical solutions in support of Mine Planning processes and other needs that arise.
- Perform plane surveying in surface mining operations as required.
- Carry out the Mine Planning policy and procedures.
- Complete other tasks as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a Mining Engineer role.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an Engineering field required; bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering preferred.
- Must possess strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Experience working with AutoCAD, Hexagon Mine Sight, or Vulcan software is a plus.
