Location: Remote (Within Canada)- Monday to Friday

The Role

As the Principal, Mining Engineer at Torex Gold,you will be responsible for managing corporate governance, guiding the site Technical Services teams in producing the Company’s technical deliverables, including Life of Mine Plan and Budget, and MRMR.This role will ensure that the technical input across all operations and projects used in business planning is at a consistent standard, ensuring the timely delivery of the technical documents required by the company annually.

The Company

Torex Gold is an intermediate gold producer based in Canada, engaged in the exploration, development, and operation of its 100% owned Morelos Property, an area of 29,000 hectares in the highly prospective Guerrero Gold Belt located 180 kilometres southwest of Mexico City.

The Company's principal asset is the Morelos Complex, which includes the El Limón Guajes ("ELG") Mine Complex, the Media Luna Mine, the EPO Project, a processing plant, and related infrastructure. Production from the Morelos Complex commenced in 2016, and an updated Technical Report for the Morelos Complex was released in March 2022.

What We're Looking for:

• Education:
  • University degree in Mining Engineering.
• Experience:
  • 15+ years minimum in the mining industry, in industrial and/or consulting roles.
  • Expertise in Underground mining, with experience in Open Pit mining.
• Skills:
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • P. Eng designation or eligibility to obtain it.
  • The ability to travelto the site. (20%)
  • An intermediate level of Spanish is highly preferred.

Key Accountabilities

Life of Mine Planning

• Contributes to the development and maintenance of the documentation around the guidance process for the LOM Plan and Annual Reserves, including the filing of supporting documentation.
• Plans and executes various portions of the LOM and Annual Reserves review process, including review of assumptions and data used.
• Reports and documents the results and subsequent work of the LOM and Annual Reserves review to relevant stakeholders.
• Participates in internal and external auditing processes on behalf of the Technical Services team as required.
• Accountable for regular site visits to observe existing installations and operations.
• Contributes to the continuous improvement of LOM and Annual Reserves governance processes

Site-Wide Production Optimization

• Key contributor to the management and execution of the annual mine plan optimization process.
• Works with VP to ensure site team is educated on the purpose and outcomes of the mine plan optimization.
• Contributes to the identification and evaluation of mining technology; assists with business cases as required.
