Job summary

Alamos Gold Inc. is seeking a Process Control Specialist (Automation Technician) for Island Gold District in Dubreuilville, ON.

You will support process control, OT, and industrial data systems across operations, maintaining DCS/PLC, HMIs, and network systems to ensure safe, reliable plant operation. The role requires hands-on experience with DeltaV DCS, various PLC platforms, HMI/SCADA, and VFDs, plus maintaining cybersecurity and documentation.

Qualifications

Post-secondary college diploma in Process Control, Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering Technology, Automation or related field (2–3 years).
Progressive experience with process control, OT systems in mining/heavy industry.
Hands-on experience with DCS/PLC, HMIs/SCADA, VFDs and industrial networks.

Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, troubleshoot Emerson DeltaV DCS for continuous plant control.
Program and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems (Schneider, Siemens, Mitsubishi, DeltaV).
Design and maintain HMI/SCADA (Citect, FactoryTalk View, Vijeo Designer, C‑More).
Configure and troubleshoot VFDs from ABB, Eaton, Schneider, Rockwell, Toshiba.
Ensure OPC/Modbus communications between PLCs, DCS, HMIs, and third-party systems.
Tune control loops to improve stability and efficiency.
Support OT systems integrated into plant and mining operations.
