Job summary

Impala Canada Ltd. is seeking a skilled long-hole blaster for the Lac des Iles Mine, located about 90 minutes northwest of Thunder Bay. The role involves preparing shots, selecting blasting agents, loading holes, and executing firing sequences with strict adherence to procedures and regulations.

This position operates on a 14x14 rotation with a crew of four. Competitive hourly pay is offered, along with health and medical insurance, a retirement savings plan, and travel allowance.

Qualifications

• Ability to safely direct activities of other workers.
• Understanding and following mine procedures and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for long-hole blasts by following cleaning and loading prints.
• Select blasting agents appropriate for the shot and loading plan.
• Operate loading equipment and load holes according to sequence.
• Determine firing sequence and blast the face; perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Description:

They must demonstrate the skills to prepare for long-hole blast following cleaning and loading prints, selecting blasting agents, operating loading equipment, loading holes, determining firing sequence, blasting the face and perform other duties as required and assigned by the supervisor. All tasks must be completed following company procedures, government regulations and manufacturer specifications. 14x14 Rotation; Crew 4

Qualifications:

• Employees must have a working knowledge in Long Hole Blasting Promotes safety and follows company procedures.
• Ability to work in a safe and productive manner and to safely direct the activities of less skilled employees.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions.
• Housekeeping and quality, professional results.
• Some Specialty Module Training requires prerequisite modules that might not be listed.
• MTCU guidelines will be followed.
