West Red Lake Gold Mines Ltd. in Northwestern Ontario is seeking a Miner 2 - Jackleg/Stopper Bolter.

Reporting to the Underground Mine Supervisor, you will install and maintain ground support in deck and sill areas and operate jackleg and stopper drills to advance development safely. You bring at least 3 years in underground hard rock mining, knowledge of ground control, and a commitment to safety, housekeeping and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of underground hard rock mining experience.
• Experience installing ground support in development, deck, and sill mining environments.
• Knowledge of underground mining methods, ground control practices, and mine safety procedures.
• Physically fit and capable of performing demanding work in underground mining conditions.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate jackleg and stopper drills to install ground support in deck and sill mining areas.
• Install rock bolts, screen, straps, and other ground support systems as required.
• Conduct workplace inspections and identify ground control hazards.
• Scale loose rock and ensure work areas are safe prior to commencing work.
• Read and interpret mine plans, ground support standards, and supervisor instructions.
• Perform equipment inspections and complete pre-operational safety checks.
• Coordinate blasting cycles and work with other underground crews.
• Maintain housekeeping standards in all assigned work areas.
• Report unsafe conditions, incidents and equipment defects promptly.
• Comply with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of underground mining operations.

MINER 2 - Jackleg/Stopper Bolter

Reporting to the Underground Mine Supervisor, the successful candidate will work a 14 &14 rotation and be responsible for operating equipment and managing materials within their assigned work areas. The role involves performing a variety of duties that contribute to the underground mining cycle while adhering to safe work procedures and supporting production, operational, and safety targets.

About the Candidate:

• Minimum 3 years of underground hard rock mining experience, preferably in a jackleg / stopper bolting role.
• Demonstrated experience installing ground support in development, deck, and sill mining environments.
• Knowledge of underground mining methods, ground control practices, and mine safety procedures.
• Strong commitment to safety standards and operational excellence and maintaining high housekeeping standards
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
• Committed to continuous improvement and adherence to company policies and provincial regulations.
• Physically fit and capable of performing demanding work in underground mining conditions.
• Underground Common Core Modules are considered an asset.

About the Role:

The Miner 2 - Jackleg/Stopper Bolter position offers a competitive base hourly rate of $75.68,

with eligibility to participate in a production bonus program that may increase total compensation up to $125.68 per hour, subject to program terms and performance criteria.

This position is responsible for installing and maintaining ground support systems in accordance with mine plans, engineering requirements, and company safety standards. The role requires proficiency operating jackleg drills and stopper drills in underground mining environments and a strong commitment to safe production, adherence to mine plans and engineering specifications, and a focus on achieving development and production targets.
