Wesdome Gold Mines is seeking a Mine Trainer for their Eagle River Mine near Wawa, ON. The role emphasizes developing and updating training materials while ensuring operator competency within the MLTSD program.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive mining experience and a strong understanding of health and safety regulations. This permanent, full-time position requires a visible presence in the field and the ability to foster a safe working environment.
Wesdome is a Canadian-focused gold producer with two high-grade underground assets: the Eagle River mine in Ontario and the Kiena mine in Québec. The company’s primary goal is to responsibly leverage its operating platform and high-quality exploration pipeline to build a growing value-driven gold producer.
The Mine Trainer will demonstrate leadership, develop, prepare, and update training materials to ensure operators receive adequate training in their specific work tasks and to evaluate competency in all modules under the MLTSD program #770010 (underground hard rock miner common core). He/she will provide training in both a classroom environment and underground, monitor and review operator activity to ensure compliance with best practices, and, in cooperation with the Mine Captain and Supervisors, identify and prioritize training needs. The successful candidate will also comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and all applicable regulations to protect the safety of employees and contribute to the efficient operation of the mine.
You are a respected mining professional with extensive hands‑on experience and a passion for developing people and promoting safe work practices. With a strong understanding of Ontario mining legislation and health and safety systems, you lead by example through a visible field presence, effective coaching, and practical, learner‑focused training.
Wesdome is an equal‑opportunity employer committed to responsible mining practices and building a diverse and inclusive workforce. We welcome qualified candidates regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or Aboriginal status.
