Job summary

AMPS is seeking an experienced underground mine surveyor to join our North American operations. This hands-on, production-focused role is embedded on-site with mining clients across Canada and the United States.

You will work closely with our global technical team, delivering practical surveying solutions while exercising professional judgement in the field. Ideal candidates bring 2+ years of underground surveying, familiarity with Deswik, GNSS, and total stations, and the ability to work

Qualifications

  • Degree in Surveying or Spatial Science (advanced diplomas considered).
  • 2+ years underground production surveying with total stations and GNSS.
  • 12+ months experience with Deswik, survey control checks, adjustments, void scanning.
  • Experience in gyroscopic surveys and aerial mapping to final deliverables.
  • Ability to work independently underground and manage daily priorities.
  • English proficiency; French or Spanish a bonus.

In North America, AMPS partners with leading specialist providers to deliver mine surveying services to underground & open pit operations. This role sits within that technical delivery framework, embedded directly on site with full backing from AMPS’s global technical team.

The Opportunity

AMPS is seeking an experienced underground mine surveyor to join our growing North American operations. This is a hands-on, production-focused role supporting underground mining clients across Canada and the United States.

You will be embedded with the operation, delivering practical surveying solutions in an environment that values competence, initiative, and professionalism. Strong technical support is available through AMPS’s global team, but you will be trusted to work independently and exercise sound professional judgement in the field.

What We’re Looking For

The following qualifications and experience are required or highly regarded:

  • Degree in Surveying, Spatial Science or related field; Advanced Diplomas considered on merit.
  • 2+ years’ underground production surveying experience using modern total stations and GNSS-connected control.
  • 12+ months’ experience with Deswik or equivalent, survey control checks and adjustments, void scanning, and monthly reconciliation/reporting.
  • Experience in gyroscopic surveys and aerial mapping through to final deliverables.
  • Ability to work independently underground and manage daily priorities.
  • English proficiency essential; French or Spanish highly regarded.

  • Is comfortable working independently underground and making sound decisions in the field

  • Holds a relevant surveying degree and is ready to apply that foundation in a demanding operational environment
  • Is open to working across multiple sites and jurisdictions within North America.
