About Brucejack

Our Brucejack Gold Mine, a high-grade underground mine in beautiful northern British Columbia, is located approximately 65 kilometres north of Stewart. Brucejack is a fly-in/fly-out operation with pick-up points across Western Canada, making it easy for people from different places to join us. We work closely with local First Nations communities including the Nisga’a, Tahltan, Gitanyow, and Gitxsan, to build respectful partnerships and celebrate our shared community.

Your Impact

As a Mine Surveyor, you’ll ensure accurate underground surveying, maintaining data integrity, and supporting mine development. In this hands-on role, you will help optimize operations, ensuring compliance with engineering designs and safety regulations.

As Part of Our Team, You Will
  • Establish and maintain underground survey controls.

  • Provide line and grade control for development crews.

  • Conduct daily survey pickups, drone scans, and update as-built models.

  • Monitor and report on underground infrastructure integrity.

  • Maintain and operate surveying equipment.

  • Collaborate with engineers, geologists, and contractors.

  • Perform risk assessments and environmental impact evaluations.

  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements

Prerequisites for your Success in This Role
  • Degree/Diploma in Mine, Geomatic, or Engineering Surveying.

  • 1-3 years of underground mining survey experience (asset).

  • Experience with survey software (DESWIK CAD/MDM, AutoCAD, MS Office).

  • Proficiency in Trimble Total Stations, GPS, CMS Scanners, and drone operation (asset).

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work underground and in extreme weather conditions.

  • Travel allowance and transportation arrangements included.

  • Rotational schedule: 13 days on / 13 days off.

The Newmont team is now recruiting for the position of Mine Surveyor with a competitive base salary between $83,385-111,180, with an additional short-term incentive of 15%. The offered base salary will be determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies, with consideration to internal equity. The expected salary range for this role is CA$$83,385 - 111,180 / year. This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.
