Job summary

Alamos Gold Inc. Young-Davidson is actively seeking a Security Guard to join the operations team in Matachewan, Ontario.

You will manage access control, patrol the mine site, monitor activities, and ensure compliance with security protocols to maintain a safe working environment. The role requires the ability to work independently, including weekends and night shifts, with 12-hour shifts on a 7-on/7-off schedule.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a security, safety, or related field.
• Valid Class G Driver's License.
• Valid Security Guard License, or willingness to obtain one.
• Strong observational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, including weekends and night shifts.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Self-motivated, dependable, and willing to work overtime when required.
• Previous First Aid and WHMIS training is considered an asset.
• Passion for maintaining a safe and secure workplace.

Responsibilities

• Access Control: Sign in/out and screen employees, visitors, suppliers, and their belongings entering and exiting the mine site.
• Site Security: Conduct daily inspections of the mine site and perform indoor and outdoor foot and vehicle patrols as required.
• Vehicle Monitoring: Perform inspections of vehicles entering the mine site to ensure compliance with site security requirements.
• Surveillance & Reporting: Monitor the surrounding area, identify suspicious activity, and report incidents, irregularities, theft, equipment damage, unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
• Safety Compliance: Conduct Fit for Work testing as required and support site safety initiatives.
• General Security Support: Carry out additional security duties and responsibilities as assigned.
