Job description

Be a part of the initial team to grow and operate a regionally significant new underground mine development that is rapidly becoming the future of the iconic Red Lake gold mining district in Ontario, Canada.

Reporting to the Underground Mine Superintendent the successful candidate is responsible to compile, verify, record and process timesheets, forms and documents. The Mine Clerk will work to safety standards and support the production targets on a locally based five days on and two days off schedule.

The focus of this role will include:

• Compile information from supervisors, verify, record and process timesheets from all mine department employees and other forms and documents in accordance with established procedures and schedules
•Compile and maintain the Underground KPI data
•Prepare reports and presentations and provide information and training to staff regarding company and program rules, regulations, and procedures
•Assist in the co-ordination of administrative procedures such as budget submissions, AFE’s and work schedules
•Resolve low level technical problems and work with onsite IT Technician to escalate issues as required
•Provide document control and input information into maintenance system and maintain equipment files
•Preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly reports to identify discrepancies
•Maintain and review contractor hours

•Receive and input travel information to and from site for the mine group
•Other duties as assigned

Skills and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Completion of post-secondary courses in business administration or related
  • Minimum of 3 years of office experience in a related industry
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and maintain confidence
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work with people
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel including knowledge of Pivot Tables, Look Up Formulas and Macros
