We are seeking a Millwright / Maintenance Mechanic to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving machine capabilities through skilled workmanship.
Job Responsibilities
- Wear, adjust, use, and maintain personal protective apparel and equipment to ensure safety.
- Identify, interpret, and apply applicable Acts, regulations, codes, and directives. Recognize, assess, and control hazards and hazardous conditions, equipment, and materials.
- Perform lock out, tag out procedures.
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematic drawings, and specifications.
- Install, align, dismantle, and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment such as pumps, fans, tanks, and conveyors using hand and power tools.
- Operate hoisting and lifting devices like cranes, jacks, and forklifts for machinery installation, setup, and repair.
- Inspect machinery and equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions.
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic, pneumatic systems, and understand programmable logic controls.
- Use hand and power tools, test, and measuring equipment effectively.
- Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts.
- Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders for fabricating parts during overhaul, maintenance, or setup.
- Perform routine maintenance including cleaning and lubricating machinery.
- Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Maintenance Mechanic / Millwright license or recognized completion of millwright apprenticeship, or at least 5 years of relevant hands-on trade experience with similar equipment.
- Ability to read, write legibly, speak, and understand English; capable of documenting records as instructed.
- Experience in the automotive manufacturing industry is an asset.
