Job description

We are seeking a Millwright/ Maintenance Mechanic to join our team! In this role you will be providing workmanship by maintaining and improving machine capabilities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Select, wear, adjust, use, and maintain personal protective apparel and equipment.
    Protect self and others. Identify, interpret, and apply applicable Acts, regulations, codes, and directives. Recognize, assess, and control hazards and hazardous conditions, equipment, and material.
  • Perform lock out, tag out procedures.
  • Identify, read, and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematic drawings, and specifications.
  • Install, align, dismantle, and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, and conveyors according to layout plans using hand and power tools.
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks, and forklifts to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up, and repair of machinery.
  • Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and understanding programmable logic controls.
  • Select and use hand and power tools.
  • Select and use test and measuring equipment.
  • Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts.
  • Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up of machinery.
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery.
  • Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Maintenance Mechanic / Millwright license, or recognized completion of millwright apprenticeship and or 5 years related successful hands-on trade experience servicing like equipment.
  • Must be able to read, write legibly, speak, and understand English and to document stipulated records as instructed.
  • Previous experience within the automotive manufacturing industry is an asset.
