Job summary

JardegRecruitment is seeking Millwright Journeypersons to join Heartland Constructors on a Suncor Fort Hills project near Fort McMurray, Alberta. Temporary assignments operate on a 7 days on / 7 days off, 12-hour shifts with days and nights, with camp accommodations provided.

Responsibilities include installing, maintaining and troubleshooting stationary machinery and mechanical equipment across site operations, with fly-in/fly-out logistics from Edmonton or Calgary.

Qualifications

• Certified Millwright Journeyperson ticket is required.
• Oil and Gas and live plant maintenance experience preferred.
• Safety certifications and test requirements are expected.
• Ability to read diagrams and service manuals is essential.

Responsibilities

• Read diagrams and service manuals to determine procedures.
• Operate rigging equipment to place heavy machinery.
• Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, connect motors and belts.
• Align and test equipment, make adjustments as needed.
• Perform predictive and operational maintenance procedures.
• Repair or replace defective parts and service hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• Possibly weld tack and fabricate; manage replacement parts inventory.

Jardeg is recruiting Millwright Journeypersons to join the Heartland Constructors team at Suncor Fort Hills near Fort McMurray, Alberta. These are temporary positions on a 7 days on, 7 days off schedule, 12 hours/day with alternating days and nights shift rotation. They are fly-in/fly-out positions with camp accommodation provided.

Millwrights install, maintain, repair and troubleshoot stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment in sites such as factories, production plants and recreational facilities.

Responsibilities

• Read diagrams and schematic drawings and service manuals to determine work procedures
• Operate rigging equipment and dollies to place heavy machinery and parts
• Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts to precise tolerances
• Align and test equipment, and make any necessary adjustments
• Perform predictive and operational procedures
• Repair or replace defective parts
• Service and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• May do some tack welding (a weld that is adequate in size to temporarily hold components in place until it can be completely welded by a registered apprentice welder or a Journeyperson welder) and fabrication as well as maintain an inventory of replacement parts

Minimum Requirements

• Certified Millwright Journeyperson ticket
• Oil and Gas experience is a must have
• Live plant maintenance experience is a must have
• Energy Safety Canada approved Elevated Work Platform
• Energy Safety Canada approved Fall Protection
• Energy Safety Canada approved Confined Space
• Energy Safety Canada approved H2S Awareness or H2S Alive
• Mask Fit Test
• Satisfactory completion of a Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol Test
• Valid Class 5 Drivers License
