Job summary

High Liner Foods Incorporated. is seeking a Journeyman Millwright for our Lunenburg, NS plant. The role supports a dynamic maintenance team within a unionized operation and offers relocation assistance for eligible candidates.

The successful candidate will rotate shifts by seniority after in-house training, perform general repairs and preventative maintenance, and work with hand and powered tools in a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Millwright certification (required).
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and support plant safety.
• Inspect machinery for pinch points and hazards; install safety devices as needed.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Follow instruction manuals and troubleshoot effectively.
• Excellent communication, teamwork and people skills.
• Self‑motivated with initiative and flexibility.
• Provide excellent customer service in a demanding production environment.
• Capable of rotating shifts.

Description

We are currently seeking a Journeyman Millwright to join our Lunenburg Operations. The Millwright will possess the ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic maintenance team in a progressive work environment. This is a unionized position located at our plant in Lunenburg, NS. The successful candidate will be assigned to an available shift by seniority following completion of in-house training. (Relocation assistance available to those who are eligible)

Primary Responsibilities:

• Primarily responsible for general repair and maintenance of equipment and machinery
• Completion of preventative maintenance tasks
• General mechanical work in a production environment
• Ability to work with hand and powered tools
• Other projects/duties as required

Qualifications:

• The ideal candidate will have a Journeyman Millwright certification.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area while contributing to overall plant safety and cleanliness
• Inspecting and monitoring machinery and equipment for pinch points and safety hazards; installing safety devices as required
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Capable of following instruction manuals and troubleshooting
• Excellent communication, team and people skills
• Self-motivated with a high degree of initiative and flexibility
• The ability to provide excellent customer service in a demanding production environment
• Candidates must be capable of working rotating shifts.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $38.42 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift

Supplemental pay types:

• Overtime pay
