Job summary

Lactalis Canada is seeking a skilled Millwright to join the maintenance team in Delta. You will ensure daily operations run safely and efficiently, service production equipment, and uphold a safe working environment for all employees.

Key duties include troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades on processing, packaging, and material handling equipment, with a focus on reliability and compliance in a food processing facility.

Qualifications

• Must hold BC or interprovincial Red Seal Journeyman Millwright.
• Experience in maintenance in industrial plants is required.
• Ability to read mechanical and schematic drawings and P&ID.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, maintain, repair and upgrade processing, packaging and material handling equipment.
• Carry out work orders and document maintenance activities.
• Read drawings and suggest best practices to improve reliability.
• Support health and safety programs and team collaboration.

Job Summary

As a key member of the maintenance team the Millwright will ensure that the day-to-day operations run smoothly and efficiently. The Millwright will be responsible for maintaining and servicing equipment used in the facility. Additionally, they will warrant safe plant operations and a safe working environment for all employees.

• Installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair and upgrading of processing, packaging and material handling equipment in a food processing environment
• Carry out work orders and apply corrective action
• Execute approved modifications and additions
• Perform and document all maintenance activities
• Read and understand mechanical and schematic drawings
• Make recommendations and promote best practices
• Support health and safety programs

Key Attributes Of The Ideal Candidate

• A valid BC or interprovincial Red Seal Journeyman Certificate of Qualification as a Millwright
• A minimum of 2 years related maintenance experience in an industrial plant
• Knowledge of plant and equipment operations
• Ability to identify, problem solve and research alternatives within the scope of the job
• Detailed understanding of fluid handling and pneumatic controls
• Ability to read and understand P&ID
• Rigging and machine installation experience
• Basic electrical knowledge (24vdc control systems, 3-phase motors)
• Good mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to work in a team based environment
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Available for weekend overtime as production demands require
• Must have own hand tools
• Additional experience or education and training an asset, i.e. welding, refrigeration, steam ticket
