Qualifications

This position involves performing on-site installation and maintenance services of systems and equipment, as well as ongoing preventive maintenance, repair, and calibration after installation under Field Specialist supervision. All resources and logistics required to perform services and maintenance activities on customers' sites within Canada are included. These activities contribute to maintaining, repairing, and refurbishing products, including all types of maintenance service (preventive and remedial), managing maintenance facilities, and field services engineering.

As a Millwright, you will be responsible for:

  • Performing on-site (Customer or Baker Hughes site) life extension, repairs, and inspection-related service activities, including onsite machining, NDT, blading, winding, critical welding, and generator diagnostics.
  • Working with hydraulic tooling devices, control fixtures, disassembling and reassembling machinery, rigging, and lifting.
  • Reading and understanding mechanical drawings and specifications in detail, including instrument specifications and mechanical auxiliaries.
  • Ideally being certified as an apprentice industrial mechanic (millwright) or in the process of obtaining such certification.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A 2-year technical degree or related education, along with 4+ years of millwright experience related to mechanics, mechatronics, or electromechanics.
  • 2+ years of experience with Baker Hughes or similar equipment, including site operation, commissioning, and start-up.
  • The ability to work under pressure, with clear thinking and decisiveness. Good team player skills.
  • Knowledge of turbine generators and/or compressor equipment, with a strong understanding of rotating equipment installation and maintenance.
  • Certification as an apprentice industrial mechanic (millwright) or in the process of obtaining it.
  • Willingness to work on Field Services outages 60-70% of the time, including projects in the Americas region, both on-shore and off-shore.
  • The ability to lift up to 50 lbs and be physically capable in a manufacturing environment.
