Job summary

Martinrea International Inc. is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to ensure all machines at Rollstar Metal Forming are maintained and in proper working order. This role requires Red Seal 433A and substantial experience.

You will troubleshoot mechanical failures, perform diagnostics, maintain logs, and support daily production. Candidates should have strong reading of drawings, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and own tools.

Qualifications

• Provincial Certification Red Seal 433A required.
• Minimum five (5) years experience in similar position.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English with good written and verbal communication skills.
• High degree of Mechanical aptitude and complete understanding of Mechanical and Electrical procedures.
• Experience of working with presses preferred.
• Knowledge of machine rigging procedures.
• Basic knowledge of machining and welding - tig, mig and stick welding.
• Ability to read drawings, blueprints, specifications and manuals.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Skilled in using precision measuring tools and industrial maintenance equipment.
• Possess own tools and toolbox.
• Holding dual tickets is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot mechanical failures and diagnose root causes of issues in equipment. Perform full diagnostics on equipment and advise Maintenance Supervisor and/or Purchasing Manager of parts required to perform necessary mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
• Must ensure all paperwork and logs are completed prior to shift end.
• Physically maintain machines and equipment.
• Maintain Preventive Maintenance Schedule.
• Ensure preventative maintenance programs are done based on assigned schedules.
• Maintain company tools as required to fulfil duties.
• Trouble shooting of production equipment and record keeping of development and troubleshooting.
• Work independently and with minimum supervision.
• Record and/or report product damage/nonconformities to your supervisor as required.
• Provide training as required.
• Complete routine paperwork as required.
• Support daily production requirements.
• Work on ladders, lifts and scaffolds.
