Job summary

Martinrea International Inc. is looking for a skilled maintenance technician to ensure machines at Rollstar Metal Forming are kept in proper working order. The role requires Red Seal certification, 5+ years of relevant experience, and strong reading/writing skills in English.

You will troubleshoot mechanical failures, perform diagnostics, and maintain preventive maintenance schedules, while working with minimal supervision to support daily production and quality targets.

Qualifications

• Provincial Red Seal 433A certification required.
• Minimum five years’ experience in a similar role.
• Must read/write/speak English with good communication.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of mechanical/electrical procedures.
• Experience with presses preferred.
• Knowledge of machine rigging procedures.
• Basic machining/welding knowledge: TIG, MIG, STICK.
• Ability to read drawings/blueprints/specs/manuals.
• Solid knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems.
• Skilled with precision measuring tools and maintenance equipment.
• Own tools and toolbox; dual tickets are an asset.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot mechanical failures and diagnose root causes; perform diagnostics and advise on parts.
• Keep logs and paperwork up to date; maintain machines and equipment.
• Follow Preventive Maintenance schedules and logs.
• Maintain company tools and ability to work on ladders/scaffolds.
• Support daily production requirements and high-quality output.
• Record and report product damage/nonconformities to supervisor.
• Provide training as required and work independently with minimal supervision.

Job Summary:

Education, Experience And Skills

• Provincial Certification Red Seal 433A required
• Minimum five (5) years experience in similar position
• Must be able to read, write and speak English with good written and verbal communication skills
• High degree of Mechanical aptitude and complete understanding of Mechanical and Electrical procedures
• Experience of working with presses preferred
• Knowledge of machine rigging procedures
• Basic knowledge of machining and welding - tig, mig and stick welding
• Ability to read drawings, blueprints, specifications and manuals
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Skilled in using precision measuring tools and industrial maintenance equipment
• Possess own tools and toolbox
• Holding dual tickets is an asset

Major Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot mechanical failures and diagnose root causes of issues in equipment Perform full diagnostics on equipment and advise Maintenance Supervisor and/or Purchasing Manager of parts required to perform necessary Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repairs
• Must ensure all paperwork and logs are completed prior to shift end
• Physically maintain machines and equipment
• Maintain Preventive Maintenance Schedule
• Ensure preventative maintenance program are done based on assigned schedules
• Maintain company tools as required to fulfil duties
• Trouble shooting of production equipment and record keeping of development and troubleshooting
• Work independently and with minimum supervision
• Record and/or report product damage/nonconformities to your supervisor as required
• Provide training as required
• Complete routine paperwork as required
• Support daily production requirements
• Work on ladders, lifts and scaffolds
