- 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment in the automotive industry (preferably as an Electrician/Millwright) or a second year Apprentice currently enrolled in the Ontario Apprenticeship Program for 433A or 442A (at a minimum)
- Certificate of Qualification in 433A or 442A is preferred
- Must have strong electrical, mechanical and analytical aptitude
- Knowledge and experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics
- Must have experience with CNC Machines (Lathes, Mills and Grinders)
- Ability to bend frequently and lift heavy equipment as required
- Able to work under pressure
- Dual ticket is considered an asset
- Must be able to communicate fluently in both written and spoken English.
- Willingness to work as a team and get along well with others
- Must be able to work with minimum supervision and be reliable
- Must be flexible with working hours and breaks
- Willing to take responsibility for their work and respond to company needs; i.e. work overtime as required to meet deadline
Job Specific Responsibilities
- Safe installation and repair of equipment
- Improve hydraulic circuits and systems in regards to stoppage of leaks, cleanliness of hydraulic oil, replacement of untidy pipes and hoses, etc.
- Passes on information, experience and knowledge to other maintenance employees in regards to repair jobs, preventative maintenance problem symptoms, etc. which was received during his/her shift.
- Inform manager or supervisor about changes in hydraulic, mechanic, electric and pneumatic circuits.
- Work in a cost effective manner and maintains a high standards of quality and excellent workmanship.
- Maintain work order and preventative/predictive maintenance system by filling in the required forms.
- Performs preventive and predictive maintenance on production and production supporting equipment as outlined in the individual work instructions.
- Maintain safety standards of equipment and work areas according to established procedures and as instructed by the supervisor.
- Comply with the designated responsibilities related to effective environmental management in accordance with MSM’s Environmental Management System (EMS)
- Inform the supervisor to the best of his/her ability about unusual things, faulty design, unsafe conditions, missing parts, etc.
- Store equipment and tools properly when not in use.
- Will conduct oneself in a manner consistent with those practices leading to the safe operation of the division and displaying leadership, concern and a safe work ethic.
- Ensure that all work areas and machines are kept clean, organized and tidy at all times
- Perform other duties as required within his/her abilities.

Maintenance Responsibilities
- Maintain and take ownership in work order and preventative maintenance system by filling in the required forms.
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on production and production supporting equipment as outlined in the individual QS9000 work instructions.
- Help to maintain the electric spare part inventory levels in stock room.
- Maintain safety standards of equipment and work area according to established procedures and as instructed by the supervisor.
- Store equipment and tools properly when not in use.
