Job summary

Flex N Gate in Windsor, Ontario is seeking a skilled Industrial Millwright to independently install, operate, and perform preventative maintenance on all mechanical equipment to keep production aligned with quality specs.

The ideal candidate holds a 433A license (Ontario) or has completed an apprenticeship with supporting certification. You will troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, read blueprints, and install or relocate equipment as needed.

Qualifications

• Ontario 433A license or apprenticeship with certificate.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical systems incl. hydraulics, pneumatics, robots, hydraulic presses, and mechanical presses.
• Experience with robotics is an asset.
• Willing to work days, afternoons & midnight shifts.
• Starting pay: $42.95/hour plus shift premiums; overtime paid after 8 hours per day.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and perform preventative maintenance on all mechanical equipment to maintain production of quality parts.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose equipment failures and identify root causes for mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Read and understand blueprints, manuals, and work instructions for mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Disassemble, reassemble and test complex machinery and sub-assemblies.
• Size and determine proper fits of keys, shafts, and bearings using precision tools.
• Perform bench operations such as drilling, tapping, grinding, welding, and fabrication.
• Maintain a safe and orderly work environment.
• Install new machinery as required and repair plant/office equipment.
• Relocate plant equipment and maintain equipment maintenance logs.
• Perform facility repairs and operate a crane and forklift (licences).

Scope of the Position

Perform all the tasks required to independently setup, operate, and perform preventative maintenance on all mechanical equipment. These tasks must be performed well enough to maintain production of quality parts to specifications and within a reasonable time when problems occur due to mechanical failures.

Responsibilities

• 433A Industrial Millwright’s license for the Province of Ontario or who has served a bona fide apprenticeship and has a certificate which substantiates a claim of such service;
• Basic knowledge of mechanical systems or has mechanical aptitude, hydraulics, pneumatics, robots, hydraulic presses, and mechanical presses;
• Troubleshoot, diagnose equipment failures, and identify root cause for mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems;
• Read and understand blueprints technical manuals and work instructions for mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems;
• Disassemble, reassemble and test complex machinery and sub-assemblies;
• Size and determine proper fits of keys, shafts, bearings, using precision tools as required;
• Perform bench operations such as drilling, tapping, grinding, welding, fabricating, etc.;
• Maintain a safe and orderly work environment;
