Job description

Our client, a leading Tier 1 manufacturing supplier, is looking for Millwright to join their team as they continue to grow in Windsor. Preference is given to those with automotive press experience. We offer competitive wages and benefits in a growing company! The position involves rotating shifts with shift premiums.

Responsibilities:

1. Understand machinery installation, assembly, maintenance, service, repair, and overhaul.
2. Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications manuals.
3. Fabricate machine parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or setup.
4. Perform start-up, testing, shutdown operations, renovation, restoration, rigging, and handling.
5. Center and set machinery to elevation, handle bearings, seals, and packing.
6. Troubleshoot computer-controlled equipment and apply resolutions.
7. Apply Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) techniques.
8. Work with conveyors, gas plants, shop compressors, pumps, hoists, and other lifting devices.
9. Operate grinders, welding equipment, gas and air dryers, heat exchangers, automated and robotics systems, electrical and electronic controls, lathes, power tools, fans, blowers, hydraulic and pneumatic systems as required.
10. Utilize power transmission systems, press brakes, and metalworking equipment.
11. Detect irregularities and malfunctions; construct foundations for machinery.
12. Estimate time and materials required and coordinate with stores.
13. Install and adjust machinery and equipment safely.
14. Plan and organize job tasks and materials systematically.
15. Maintain skills through continuous learning and adaptation to new equipment maintenance techniques.
16. Support company IATF 16949 initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Trade Certification or Red Seal Endorsement.
• At least 3 years of related experience in manufacturing, preferably automotive; press experience is a plus.
• Union experience is an asset.
• Strong mechanical and assembly skills.
• Hands-on instrumentation troubleshooting is an asset.
• Experience with hydraulic systems is a definite asset.
• Basic electrical theory knowledge is an asset.
• Basic software knowledge is required.

The position involves rotating shifts: days and afternoons. Overtime is paid after 40 hours per week, with double time on Sundays and holidays. Overtime may be required based on production demands. Annual increases are provided per the company's CBA, as this is a union position.
