Job summary

Lactalis Canada is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to perform daily preventive maintenance on high-speed processing and packaging equipment. You will inspect, diagnose, and repair production machinery while adhering to GMP, health and safety standards.

The role requires a licensed millwright (433A) in Ontario and 3–5 years of industrial manufacturing experience. Shifts include night and afternoon options.

Qualifications

• Licensed millwright (433A) in Ontario.
• 3–5 years of relevant industrial manufacturing experience.
• Strong preventive maintenance and troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to read, interpret and utilize blueprints/drawings.
• Experience with SAP or similar CMMS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily preventive maintenance on processing and packaging equipment.
• Inspect machinery to detect irregularities and malfunctions.
• Document work completion accurately.
• Adhere to GMP, health & safety, and environmental standards.
• Dismantle, install, repair and test mechanical equipment.
• Provide downtime, material, manpower and uptime information.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Purpose

As an Maintenance Mechanic for Lactalis, you will be performing daily preventative maintenance on processing equipment, high-speed packaging equipment, ancillary equipment, etc. Regular adjustments and repairs to be performed on production equipment as the need arises.

Responsibility

• Complete all assigned work and accurately document completion of work
• Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and find irregularities and malfunctions
• Perform preventative maintenance on all production equipment and new construction
• Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMPs, Health & Safety, Food Safety & Environmental Standards
• Perform tasks related to dismantling, installation, repair, and testing mechanical equipment
• Perform other trades practices on work assignments within ability and skill level
• Provide information regarding job downtime, material needs, manpower, and uptime
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Licensed millwright within Ontario (433 A License)
• Experience in a food manufacturing environment is an asset
• Driven ability to learn and perform all aspects of the job
• 3 to 5 years of relevant industrial manufacturing experience
• Strong preventative maintenance and troubleshooting ability
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Capability to read, interpret and utilize blueprints and drawings
• Working knowledge of basic maintenance management software (SAP) would be an asset
• Experience with plant utilities including HVAC, boiler, chiller, and compressors would be considered an asset

We are looking for Night shift Friday to Tueday 10.00 pm to 6.30 am or Afternoon shift 2.00 pm - 10.30 pm
