Job summary

ArcelorMittal Tailored Blanks is seeking a skilled Millwright to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems in our steel blanking facility in Ontario. You will work with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to minimize downtime and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements include a 433A license in Ontario, 5+ years in automotive or heavy manufacturing, and strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, and gears.

Qualifications

• Licensed Industrial Millwright (433A) in Ontario.
• 5+ years in automotive or heavy manufacturing.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, and gear systems.
• Able to read blueprints and technical manuals.
• Welding, machining, and fabricating components experience a plus.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Install, assemble, and align mechanical components, machinery, and equipment.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
• Conduct routine inspections and ensure equipment operates at peak efficiency.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve machine reliability and efficiency.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Document maintenance activities and generate reports as required.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability.

The Millwright is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical systems and equipment in a steel blanking facility. This role ensures optimal equipment performance, minimizes downtime, and supports continuous improvement initiatives. The Millwright will work closely with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to maintain a safe and efficient manufacturing environment.

Accountabilities

• Install, assemble, and align mechanical components, machinery, and equipment.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
• Conduct routine inspections and ensure equipment operates at peak efficiency.Collaborate with production, and engineering teams to improve machine reliability and efficiency.

• Comply with all regulatory requirements, including workplace safety and environmental policies.

Qualifications

• Licensed Industrial Millwright (433A) in Ontario.
• Experience with Automotive Stamping or Blanking presses is an asset
• Minimum 5 years of experience in an automotive or heavy manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with expertise in hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, and gear systems.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Experience with welding, machining, and fabricating components is an asset.
• Knowledge of predictive maintenance tools such as vibration analysis and thermography.
• Proficient in using hand and power tools for mechanical repairs.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems and PLC troubleshooting is an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) is an asset.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and overtime as required.
