Job summary

Eldorado Gold Saskatchewan | Foran seeks a Mill Operator 1 – Flotation Area Operator to join the McIlvenna Bay team on a 14/14 rotation. The role focuses on safe, efficient operation of copper and zinc flotation circuits with close collaboration across mill personnel.

Responsibilities include monitoring parameters, performing pre-op checks, and supporting emergency procedures while ensuring quality targets and adherance to safety standards in a remote, camp-based site.

Qualifications

  • Technical diploma or certification in process operations, control systems, or a related field is an asset.
  • 4+ years of milling experience required, preferably mining or mineral-processing.
  • Minimum 1 year as a Flotation Area Operator in a mineral-processing plant.
  • Experience with copper and/or zinc flotation circuits is a strong asset.
  • Experience with grinding, SAG and Ball mills is an asset.
  • Familiarity with DCS/SCADA/HMIs and control systems.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of safety, environmental and emergency procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Adjust flow rates, reagent addition, pH and densities to meet targets.
  • Coordinate with engineers and supervisors to optimize flotation performance.
  • Support control room start-up and shutdown procedures.
  • Complete monitoring sheets accurately and consistently.
  • Assist Met Lab with sampling activities.
  • Respond to alarms and abnormal conditions quickly.
  • Troubleshoot process issues with maintenance on equipment.
  • Monitor quality data and online analyzers and adjust accordingly.
  • Follow safety, environmental and emergency procedures.
  • Perform pre-op checks and lockout/tagout compliance.
  • Join toolbox meetings and contribute to safety culture.
  • Maintain clear shift handovers and equipment status updates.

Mill Operator 1 - Flotation Area Operator – 2026-122

Eldorado Gold Saskatchewan | Foran (TSX:ELD) is seeking a Mill Operator 1 – Flotation Area Operator to join our growing McIlvenna Bay team. This is a full-time position based at the McIlvenna Bay site working a 14/14 rotation.

As part of the Mill Processing Plant Team, the Flotation Area Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the copper and zinc flotation circuits. The operator monitors process conditions, makes operational adjustments, responds to issues, and works closely with other mill personnel to maintain stable production and achieve recovery and concentrate quality targets.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor flotation cells, pumps, pump boxes, and reagent pumps.
  • Monitor, record and adjust, when necessary, flotation parameters such as flow rates, reagent addition, air addition, pH, slurry densities and froth depth/pulp levels.
  • Work with engineers and supervisors to optimize flotation performance.
  • Coordinate with the Control Room for safe start-up and shutdown procedures.
  • Complete parameter monitoring sheets consistently and accurately.
  • Support Met Lab by assisting with sampling activities.
  • Respond to alarms, deviations, and abnormal conditions quickly and effectively.
  • Troubleshoot process issues and work with maintenance on equipment problems.
  • Monitor quality data and online analyzers; adjust to meet targets.
  • Follow all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and procedures.
  • Initiate emergency procedures when needed and support emergency response.
  • Operate using HMIs, control systems, and DCS interfaces.
  • Communicate with operators, maintenance, supervisors, and engineers.
  • Provide clear shift handovers and updates on operations and equipment status.
  • Keep accurate records in logbooks and digital systems.
  • Perform pre-op checks, inspections, and follow lockout/tagout rules.
  • Join daily toolbox meetings and contribute to a strong safety culture.

Job Qualifications and Skills:

  • Technical diploma or certification in process operations, control systems, or a related field is an asset.
  • 4+ years of milling experience required, preferably in a mining or mineral-processing environment.
  • A minimum of 1 year as a Flotation Area Operator in a mineral-processing plant is required.
  • Experience with copper and/or zinc flotation circuits is considered a strong asset.
  • Experience with grinding, SAG and Ball mills is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with process control systems, distributed control systems (DCS), human-machine interfaces (HMIs), and SCADA systems.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of applicable safety, environmental, and emergency-response procedures.
  • Effective communication, computer, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe operating practices.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • $50.60/hr with an additional 10% annual bonus
