Requirements include a college diploma or trade license (machine repair or electrician), 5–7 years in a unionized shop, excellent communication and organizational skills, and ability to travel. Base salary ranges CAD 84,800–CAD 106,000 per year.

Qualifications

• College diploma or trade license in machine repair or electrician; appropriate certification as required.
• 5–7 years of experience in a unionized shop environment.
• Excellent written, oral and listening communication; strong analytical skills.
• Highly organized with administrative capabilities and self-motivation.
• Ability to travel (5% Canada) and (5% US & Int'l); valid passport.
• Must meet Anthropometrical Size Restrictions for confined space.
• Midnight shift availability and flexibility to work shift work as required.

Responsibilities

• Organize jobs for shift start and ensure employees adhere to safety regulations.
• Prepare daily reports and track progress including implementation of new technologies.
• Ensure problems are properly documented, jobs are reviewed and area is clean before operating equipment.
• Work within budgets and maintain accurate employee records.
• Communicate with Production on breakdowns/status/equipment availability.
• Maintain equipment uptime and follow-up on all requests.
• Maintain a clean and tidy work area for group.
• Troubleshoot mechanical problems on machinery and equipment.
• Significant overtime and weekend work is involved.
• Supervisory duties such as payroll/attendance.
