Zurich Canada is seeking a Pricing Actuary to join our growing team supporting the Middle Market business unit. This role can be based in Toronto or Montreal.

The Pricing Actuary will lead reviews of rating tools, portfolio management, and strategies to support business objectives. The role involves partnering with stakeholders from the business, global pricing teams, and reserving to review pricing algorithms, implement rating tools, and track performance metrics.

What you will do

• Take ownership and influence strategic decisions by working directly with leadership and using data-driven insights.
• Continuously improve the Commercial Middle Market pricing algorithm and set requirements for production systems.
• Monitor the performance of the Middle Market book and ensure the accuracy of key performance indicators, advocating for data-driven portfolio management.
• Collaborate with global colleagues to develop and share best practices and pricing tools.
• Innovate with new insights and pricing techniques to add value.
• Calculate profit margins on new and renewal business.
• Perform actuarial analyses and provide insights on models and risks.
• Support underwriting teams with pricing decisions.
• Ensure compliance with governance and regulatory standards.

Job Qualifications - What You Bring To The Table

Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or Actuarial Sciences
• 5+ years of actuarial experience
• FCAS or equivalent certification
• Alternatively, a Bachelor’s Degree with 10+ years of experience and ACAS or equivalent certification.

Preferred:

• Experience in Commercial Lines pricing
• Cross-functional team collaboration skills
• Strong communication skills, able to explain technical results to non-technical audiences
• Proficiency in Excel, SQL, R, or similar software
• English language skills for communication with stakeholders outside Quebec.
