Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Microvellum Programmer to join our Mississauga team. You will develop and customize Microvellum libraries, generate part lists, and prepare CNC-ready data to drive efficient production in a millwork setting.

You will collaborate with project managers, designers, and estimators to ensure accurate shop drawings and seamless production processes, with a strong focus on craftsmanship and technology integration.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in CAD programming or software development within a millwork or construction environment.
• Strong knowledge of Microvellum software platform and its customization capabilities.
• Experience with schematics, drafting standards, and 2D animation for technical presentations.
• Construction industry experience is highly desirable to understand workflows.

Responsibilities

• Analyze project drawings and site plans to develop accurate shop drawings.
• Create 2D and 3D CAD drawings reflecting construction intent and finish specs.
• Collaborate with project managers, designers, and estimators to validate dimensions and materials.
• Incorporate client feedback and redlines into drawing revisions.
• Participate in design reviews to identify production issues and propose improvements.
• Develop intelligent Microvellum libraries and parametric configurations for projects.
• Generate accurate part lists, cut lists, and CNC-ready data to drive production.
• Program machining operations and nesting patterns to optimize material use.
• Coordinate with CNC operators to ensure output accuracy and clarity.
• Troubleshoot Microvellum or G-code issues and correct design or software errors.

Engineering & Drafting

• Analyze architectural, renderings and site dimension plans to develop detailed and accurate shop drawings.
• Create 2D and 3D CAD drawings that reflect construction intent, installation methodology, and finish specifications.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, designers, and estimators to validate dimensions, construction details, and material selections.
• Incorporate feedback and redlines from clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders into drawing revisions.
• Participate in design reviews to identify production issues early and suggest alternatives or enhancements.

Microvellum Programming

• Develop intelligent product libraries and parametric configurations in Microvellum tailored to project specifications.
• Generate accurate part lists, cut lists, and CNC-ready data to drive production efficiency.
• Program machining operations and nesting patterns that optimize material usage and minimize production waste.
• Coordinate with CNC operators and shop floor personnel to ensure clarity and accuracy of output.
• Troubleshoot issues within Microvellum or G-code outputs and proactively correct design or software errors.

Experience

• Proven experience in CAD programming or software development within a millwork or construction environment
• Strong knowledge of Microvellum software platform and its customization capabilities
• Experience working with schematics, drafting standards, and 2D animation for technical presentations
• Construction industry experience is highly desirable to understand project workflows and requirements
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues efficiently
