Job Purpose

The Microelectronics Process Engineer will develop and implement new manufacturing processes for advanced RF, optical, and microelectronic components, modules, and subsystems.

Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with product design and development teams to provide process engineering solutions supporting new product introduction (NPI) and manufacturing.
2. Possess wafer-level assembly experience; strong project and customer management skills.
3. Support R&D related to optical and microelectronic processes.
4. Manage project timelines to meet milestones and deliverables.
5. Operate high-end automated assembly equipment (dispensers, die bonders, wirebonders, optical aligners).
6. Develop processes for assembling optical and microelectronic modules, including SMT, flip chip assembly, underfill, epoxy dispensing, die bonding, wirebonding, encapsulation, and optical alignment.
7. Troubleshoot process issues and guide less experienced team members.
8. Conduct research to develop new operating policies and processes.
9. Create process documentation, design tooling and fixtures, and qualify new processes.
10. Research and procure equipment for evolving technologies.
11. Support customer NPI builds within tight timelines.
12. Provide feedback to optimize manufacturability, yields, and throughput.
13. Educational and Experience Requirements:
14. University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Photonics, or related field.
15. Minimum 12 years in Process or Manufacturing Engineering roles.
16. Experience with optical and microelectronic technologies and wafer-level processing.
17. Proficiency with AutoCAD/SolidWorks; hands-on build experience is advantageous.
18. Experience with equipment programming and product design phases is beneficial.
19. Knowledge of process control, lean manufacturing, DFM, and FMEA.
20. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
