Job summary

Neopharm Labs is seeking a Microbiology Analyst for an evening/day shift in a Canadian lab. The role involves performing analyses per SOPs and GMP, maintaining sterile conditions, and conducting antibiotic susceptibility testing.

The candidate should have a chemistry/biochemistry diploma, 2–3 years in microbiology, and familiarity with USP/Ph. Eur. Knowledge of GMP and a regulated environment is an asset.

Qualifications

• Diploma in chemistry, biochemistry, or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of experience in a similar microbiology role.
• Experience with antibiotic testing and familiarity with USP/Ph. Eur.
• Experience working in GMP-regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform analyses per SOPs, GMP, and pharmacopoeias.
• Prepare and maintain culture media and sterile equipment.
• Monitor and maintain sterile lab conditions.
• Conduct antibiotic susceptibility testing and method validation.
• Follow laboratory safety and hygiene rules and document analyses in records.
• Enter results into the LIMS and report out-of-spec results.

• Day shift: Flexible, Sunday to Thursday

Key Responsibilities

• Perform various analyses and discuss related technical issues while complying with SOPs, GMP, and relevant pharmacopoeias;
• Prepare and maintain culture media and ensure proper handling of sterile equipment.
• Monitor and maintain sterile conditions in the laboratory environment.
• Perform tests related to antibiotics, including susceptibility determination and method validation.”
• Follow laboratory safety and hygiene rules;
• Document analyses in appropriate records following good documentation practices;
• Interpret test results and raw data, and enter them into the laboratory information management system;
• Document and report any out-of-specification results, deviations, incidents, or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor;
• Perform daily checks on laboratory equipment;
• Monitor the laboratory environment and ensure equipment and other necessities are in good condition;
• Keep all documentation related to activities up to date;
• Perform any other related tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor or as required.

Profile Sought

• Diploma in chemistry, biochemistry, or equivalent;
• Practical experience in microbiological analyses, ideally involving antibiotic testing.
• 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar position (an asset);
• Knowledge of pharmacopoeias (USP, Ph. Eur);
• Experience working in a regulated environment (GMP) (an asset);
• Laboratory experience (an asset);
• Good team spirit;
• Planning and organizational skills;
• Good analytical and scientific judgment (critical thinking);
• Meticulousness;
• Sense of responsibility and autonomy;
• Ability to work under pressure;
• French(spoken, read, written);English(read and written)
