Job summary

AtomVie Global Radiopharma Inc. is seeking a Microbiologist to perform routine microbiological testing per USP/EP, maintain laboratory operations, and support quality documentation. The role includes environmental monitoring of cleanrooms, record-keeping, and participation in investigations while adhering to Health Canada GMPs for sterile radiopharmaceuticals.

Candidates should have a B.Sc. in Microbiology, 1–3 years of related experience, and be capable of shift work with weekend alternation.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and ability to write technical documents and reports.
  • Good communication skills in English and ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical cGMP environment, aseptic operations, cleanrooms, and biosafety containment assets are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine microbiological testing including sterility testing, growth promotion, bioburden testing, microbial identification and other tests per USP and EP.
  • Peer-review laboratory records.
  • Conduct environmental monitoring of cleanrooms according to SOPs.
  • Maintain the AtomVie Microbiology Laboratory per Health Canada GMPs, including records, procedures, waste disposal, materials, equipment, and routine operations.

AbouttheRole

The Microbiologist will be responsible for completing the day-to-day tasks assigned; this embraces routine microbiological testing including: sterility testing, growth promotion, bioburden testing, microbial identification, and other tests according to the USP and EP.

  • Conductroutinemicrobiologicaltestingincluding:sterilitytesting,growthpromotion,bioburdentesting,microbialidentification,andothertestsaccordingtotheUSPandEP.
  • Conductpeerreviewoflaboratoryrecords.
  • ConductroutineenvironmentalmonitoringofcleanroomsaccordingtoSOPs.
  • BeresponsibleforthemaintenanceoftheAtomVieMicrobiologyLaboratoryaccordingtoHealthCanadaGMPs,includingrecords,procedures,disposalofwaste,materials,equipment,androutineoperations.
  • Supportcalibration/maintenanceofMicrobiologyequipment.
  • Conductinventoryandmanagementofmicrobiologicalmaterials.
  • AssistintheclosureofChangeControls,Non-Conformances,InvestigationsandCAPAsasspecifiedintheSOPs.
  • SupportinvestigationsforMicrorelatedfailuresandnon-conformances.
  • Assistinthewritingoftechnicaldocuments,customerandinternalreports,SOPs,protocols.
  • SupporttheMediaFillprogram.
  • UnderstandandworkundertheHealthCanadaGMPrequirementsforsterilepharmaceuticalsandtheAnnextotheGoodManufacturingPracticesGuidelinesGoodManufacturingPractices(GMP)forPositronEmittingRadiopharmaceuticals(PERs).
  • Plan,implement,andsuccessfullycompleteassignedtasksinatimelyfashionensuringconsistenthighquality.
  • Conductinvestigationsfortestingfailureandnon-conformancesandimplementcorrectiveactions.
  • AdheretoGMPregulationsbymaintainingcompleterecordspertainingtoallaspectsofmicrobiologicaltesting,routineoperations,andequipmentmaintenance
  • UnderstandandworkundertheHealthCanadaandFDAGMPrequirementsforsterilepharmaceuticals.
  • UnderstandandworkundertheCanadianNuclearSafetyCommissionregulations.
  • EnsurecompliancewithHealthandSafetyforallpolicies,proceduresandregulationsapplicabletotheirwork.
  • Completeallotherdutiesasrequired.
What You Bring to the Role
  • Proficiencywithspreadsheets(e.g.Excel,GoogleSheets),andabilitytowritetechnicaldocumentsandreports.
  • Goodcommunicationskills(inEnglish)andabilitytoworkbothindependentlyandcooperativelyinateamenvironment.
  • ExperienceinapharmaceuticalcGMPenvironment,experienceinAsepticOperations,Cleanrooms,andBiosafetyContainmentLevel2lab,andworkingunderCanadianNuclearSafetyCommissionregulationsareassetsinthisrole.
Requirements
  • B.Sc.inMicrobiologyorarelatedfield.
  • 1to3yearsofrelatedexperienceinMicrobiologicaltestingsuchasGrowthPromotion,Bioburden,EnvironmentalMonitoring,Sterilityand/orBacterialEndotoxin.
  • This position requires shift work and alternating weekends.
  • Abilitytoliftandmoveheavyweightsupto23kilogramsisrequired.
Compensation:

Annual salary starts at $58k. Compensation is based on relevant industry experience, academic credentials, and qualifications.
