A regional health authority in Nanaimo is seeking an MRI Technologist to join their multidisciplinary health care team. You will be responsible for performing MRI special procedures while ensuring patient-centered care. Qualified candidates should have an accredited Magnetic Resonance program certification and experience in an acute setting. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.

Under general supervision, and reporting to the MRI supervisor or designate, as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team providing client-centered care, the MRI Technologist performs Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) special procedures. Duties include receiving and completing requisitions, forms and reports; preparing and monitoring supplies and equipment; patient monitoring; and operating acquisition equipment, including archiving acquired images, and computerized patient data systems.

Education, Training And Experience
Graduation from an accredited Magnetic Resonance program and designation as a certified Technologist in Magnetic Resonance (RTMR) with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT). Three (3) years recent, related experience, including two (2) years MRI experience in an acute setting; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
