Job summary

Interior Health Authority in Kamloops, BC, is seeking a permanent part-time Mental Health & Substance Use Support Worker to join the Mental Health team. The role focuses on life skills training, coaching, advocacy, information, and support for clients.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, applying recovery-oriented practice to promote independence, build community connections, and help clients achieve their goals in line with an established plan of care.

Qualifications

  • Compassionate, reliable and client-centered candidate passionate about mental health.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with sound judgment and resilience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and promote independence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide life skills training, coaching, advocacy, information and support.
  • Deliver psychosocial rehabilitation activities focusing on skills like relapse prevention and employment.
  • Support client empowerment and achievement of goals per plan of care.
  • Coordinate and evaluate specialized PSR programs as required.
