Job summary

Cameco Corporation in Saskatchewan is seeking a lab leader to oversee a team of metallurgical technologists and the full spectrum of laboratory activities at the McArthur River site.

You will manage QA/QC programs, lab equipment, and the LIMS database, while driving continuous improvement and ensuring safe, accurate analysis and reporting. Requires a diploma and 5–8 years' experience.

Qualifications

• Diploma in laboratory technology or bioscience technology.
• Five to eight years of relevant work experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered.
• Excellent troubleshooting, organization, and communication skills.
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office suite programs.
• Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of metallurgical technologists and manage all laboratory equipment.
• Oversee quality assurance and quality control programs.
• Report, order and maintain lab consumables, hire and interview new team members.
• Maintain laboratory information management system (LIMS) database and ensure accuracy.
• Perform lab analysis work and drive continuous improvement in the lab.
• Collaborate with metallurgists to design and execute test work.
