Job summary

Industrial Electric Manufacturing (IEM) in Surrey, BC is seeking a Fabrication Lead (Metal) to lead the fabrication department, plan and oversee sheet metal production, and drive continuous improvement while enforcing safety standards.

This 100% in-office role requires on-site presence in Surrey. The compensation offers a salary range of CAD 35–45 per hour, plus benefits and potential incentives, reflecting the focus on safety, quality, and team leadership within our manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in IEM Switchgear, metal fabrication, or process engineering focusing on fabrication.
• Strong knowledge of fabrication machinery, tools, and equipment.
• Proven ability to interpret technical information, analyze data, and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the fabrication team, ensuring quality standards and efficient production.
• Host Tier 1 daily management board meetings.
• Coordinate and oversee part logistics across facilities.
• Communicate and manage transfer of parts between departments.
• Set up and maintain equipment, tools, systems, and materials.
• Review and optimize work processes to improve efficiency.
• Maintain staffing levels to meet production demands.
• Conduct employee orientation, training, scheduling, and coaching.
• Provide performance feedback as requested by supervisors.
• Enforce safety protocols for machinery and activities, complying with policies.
