Zusammenfassung

Pomerleau is leading the WAHA Redevelopment Project in Northern Ontario, seeking an MEP Operations Lead to oversee mechanical and electrical execution. The role supports commissioning activities, manages trade partners, and ensures safe, efficient delivery of high-quality building systems.

Fly-in/fly-out with a 14 days on, 7 days off rotation and on-site presence. Ideal candidates have 5–10 years in MEP coordination, a mechanical or electrical engineering credential, and strong leadership

Qualifikationen

  • 5-10 years of mechanical and electrical experience in the construction industry.
  • A University Degree/Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a combination of education and industry experience.
  • Proven track record of mechanical and electrical coordination and team collaboration.
  • Experience in healthcare would be an asset.

Aufgaben

  • Provide MEP expertise to support the successful delivery of all mechanical and electrical project requirements.
  • Serve as the electromechanical subject matter expert for the project, providing guidance across design, construction, and commissioning activities.
  • Act proactively to predict and mitigate risks and validate constructability and build estimates (procurement).
  • Optimize electromechanical concepts while complying with contractual obligations, including procurement information.
  • Manage the MEP Scopes and Trade Partners and relationships for trust and long-term collaboration.
  • Guide and manage junior MEP Ops team members and provide leadership for commissioning deliverables.
  • Support project schedules and commissioning with technical reviews of shop drawings and procurement costs.
  • Ensure proper coordination of work between professionals and specialized partners.
  • Engage in design development and project schedule development as required.
  • Assist with on-site management of day-to-day MEP operations and site staff.

Pomerleau is proud to be part of the WAHA Redevelopment Project, a landmark healthcare initiative supporting the delivery of the Moose Factory Island Ambulatory Care Facility and strengthening access to care for communities in Northern Ontario.As part of this highly impactful project, the MEP Operations Lead will play a key role in overseeing mechanical and electrical execution, coordinating trade partners, supporting commissioning activities, and ensuring building systems are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality.This position follows a 14 days on, 7 days off rotation and operates on a fly in fly out schedule.

What you will do

  • Provide MEP expertise to support the successful delivery of all mechanical and electrical project requirements
  • Serve as the electromechanical subject matter expert for the project, providing guidance across design, construction, and commissioning activities.
  • Execute the role of MEP Operations Lead by.a. Act proactively to predict and mitigate risks.b. Validate constructability (costs) and build estimate (procurement). This includes supporting the project team for all MEP items.c. Optimize the proposed electromechanical concepts while complying with contractual obligations, including information related with procurementd. Managing the MEP Scopes and Trade Partners.e. Manage relationships to ensure trust and long-term relationships.f. Support, guide, and manage junior MEP Ops team membersg. Provide leadership to ensure that commissioning requirements and deliverables are met.h. Support the project team in the preparation and validation of construction schedules and commissioning, with technical reviews of specialty shop drawings and with procurement (costs).i. Ensure proper coordination of work and deliverables between professionals and specialized partners.
  • Actively engage (as required by the Project Director) in the remaining design development phase to ensure that the project objectives are met.
  • Actively engage in the project schedule development to ensure that a viable achievable schedule is created.
  • Onsite presence to assist with the management of the day to day MEP operations and supporting of the site staff.
  • Approve Quality and Commissioning plans from our MEP trade partners.
  • Drive the Commissioning Process, including the management of the third party Cx agent.
  • Participate in meetings as required.

This role could be for you if you have
