MENTAL HEALTH THERAPIST
The Prince Albert Grand Council is now accepting applications for a permanent contract position (1day/week) for a Mental Health Therapist.
In collaboration with the Shoal Lake First Nation, the Mental Health Therapist will provide mental health services, to include therapy, consulting and coordination. This will involve providing direct culturally appropriate clinical counseling to First Nation Members; initial intake assessments and the development of individual, family and group treatment plans; provide crisis intervention to individuals, families, and groups that will address issues as identified by the First Nation; and work toward empowering the individual and community to their fullest potential.
Qualifications:
? Registration as a psychologist in the province/territory of Saskatchewan with clinical or counselling orientation; or
? Registration as a social worker in the province of Saskatchewan (Master of Social Work or PhD in social work with clinical orientation); and
? Be a recognized Health Canada provider and with approval from the First Nations and Inuit Health Branch (FNIHB).
? Maintain standards of practice as set out by Saskatchewan professional associations and the laws of Saskatchewan and Canada;
? Recognize and be respectful of the cultural values that are practiced and offer therapy services that are consistent with community cultural values;
? Have demonstrated knowledge in the provision of crisis intervention services to individual, families and community;
? Current Valid Drivers License and own vehicle
? Strong verbal and written communication skills and possess good people skills
? Able to maintain superior professionalism within the community.
