Job summary

Kingston Health Sciences Centre is seeking a Nurse Practitioner in Mental Health & Addiction Services to provide high-autonomy care, conduct rapid physical/medical assessments and mental health risk assessments, and develop patient care plans within a collaborative practice.

The NP will lead in program development, provide nursing leadership, and work across disciplines to meet patient needs through all stages of withdrawal and treatment.

Qualifications

• Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse in the Extended Class.
• Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from an Ontario University or equivalent.
• Masters or Doctoral degree in nursing with a clinical specialty from a Canadian University or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years of community/hospital health care experience.
• Experience in Mental Health & Addiction medicine.
• Prescribing Narcotics and Controlled Substances course completion.
• CPR at health care provider level.
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training within the last 2 years.
• Vulnerable Sector Check within past 3 months.
• Attendance Management policies applicable; refer KHSC policies for details.
• Satisfactory criminal reference check and vulnerable sector search.
