The University of Alberta is seeking a Mental Health Counsellor to provide in-person single-session therapy and initial assessments to students on North Campus, Edmonton. You will join a multidisciplinary team within Counselling & Clinical Services and help ensure rapid access to care.
Role includes facilitating psychoeducational programs, contributing to program development and evaluation, and supporting graduate student supervision and training under CCS leadership.

Location - This role is in-person. Work primarily takes place at North Campus, Edmonton.

Reporting to the Director of Counselling & Clinical Services (CCS), the mental health counsellor delivers single session therapy and first-session assessment and intervention to students at the University of Alberta. This is a chance to practice within a responsive system that prioritizes rapid access. You’ll work alongside a multidisciplinary team of social workers, psychologists, psychiatrists, nurses, doctoral residents, and master's practicum students.
Beyond direct clinical work, the role includes facilitating psychoeducational workshops and skills-based programming, and contributing to program development and evaluation alongside CCS leadership. The counsellor may also assist with hiring, training, and/or supervision of graduate students.
