We are hiring a permanent full-time Mental Health and Substance Use (MHSU) Counselling & Treatment Clinician to join the Adult Short-Term Assessment and Treatment (ASTAT) team.
We are looking for a self-directed, multi-tasking mental health clinician who enjoys working within a multi-disciplinary team environment. If you are a highly skilled and experienced Clinician, and Group Facilitator looking to achieve a better work/life balance, we want to hear from you. Three to five years experience in clinical MHSU services is preferred.
This position works with the Access Team conducting brief triage assessments to determine the most appropriate service within MHSU. It also provides some brief counselling (1-3 sessions) for individuals.
The Counselling & Treatment Clinician functions as a member of the larger Hospitals & Communities Integrated Services (HCIS) healthcare team and as part of a specific MHSU multi-disciplinary team. The goal is to ensure that persons with serious acute mental health problems and/or problematic substance use issues have access to timely, responsive, evidence-based short-term treatment and clinical supports across the continuum of available services.
The role involves assessment, treatment, service coordination, and urgent response to complex clients, often with co-occurring disorders and serious functional impairments in various life domains. The clinician utilizes specialized treatment modalities/therapies for individuals, groups, and families.
Days of work are Tuesday to Saturday. Working hours are 11:00-19:00 from Tuesday to Friday, and 09:00-17:00 on Saturday.
