Job description

Position Summary

Interior Health is seeking an experienced Rural Adult Mental Health & Substance Use (MHSU) Clinician to join the Child & Youth Mental Health Substance Use team for a permanent full-time position based at the Williams Lake Mental Health Centre in Williams Lake, B.C.

This is a unique opportunity to work with Indigenous communities and wellness through an Indigenous lens. The position is integrated with Three Corners Health Services Society and involves regular outreach to Indigenous communities in the N. Secwepemc territory.

What will you work on?

The Child & Youth Mental Health clinician will provide culturally appropriate services to clients within the Northern Secwepemc First Nation communities, including assessments, reports, and culturally sensitive client care. The focus is on holistic, person-centered MHSU care, delivered through an Indigenous trauma-informed lens.

The Substance Use Clinician provides assessment, treatment, service coordination, and urgent response for complex clients, often with co-occurring disorders, functioning across physical health, personal, family, financial, occupational, and social domains.

Scheduling Information:

Monday to Friday, 08:30-16:30, with weekends and statutory holidays off.

Understanding colonial impacts on mental health and substance use is also an asset. Qualifications

Masters degree in an Allied Health, Behavioural, or Social Science field from an accredited institution. Two years’ recent experience in mental health and substance use or equivalent. Valid BC Class V driver’s license.
