Job summary

Teledyne MEMS Edmonton is seeking a MEMS Equipment Technologist to maintain and troubleshoot specialized MEMS manufacturing equipment. You will track performance, manage spares, and collaborate with operations to resolve process issues in a fast-paced, high-precision environment.

The role requires 2–3 years in equipment maintenance or instrumentation, strong troubleshooting across electrical, electronic, mechanical and pneumatic systems, and a background in electronics or instrumentation.

Qualifications

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, electronic, mechanical and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience in equipment maintenance or instrumentation.
  • Background in electronics or instrumentation is required or advantageous.
  • RF systems familiarity and clean room experience are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and troubleshoot specialized MEMS manufacturing equipment.
  • Track equipment performance and keep documentation up to date.
  • Perform and improve preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Source and manage spare parts inventory.
  • Collaborate with operations and engineering to resolve process issues.
  • Train and mentor team members on maintenance tasks.
  • Work independently on projects and provide emergency support when needed.
  • Communicate with vendors for repairs and technical support.

Please note : This position might require flexibility to support shift work, including evenings, weekends, or rotating schedules, depending on operational needs. Shift requirements will be communicated in advance and are essential to ensure continuous coverage and support for business operations.


What you’ll do


  • Maintain and troubleshoot specialized equipment used in MEMS manufacturing.

What you need


  • Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems (required).


  • Ability to adapt, learn quickly, and communicate effectively (required).


  • 2–3 years of experience in equipment maintenance or instrumentation (required).


  • Background in electronics or instrumentation (required).


  • Red Seal certification in plumbing or electrical trades (advantage).


  • Diploma or degree in electronics or instrumentation (advantage).


  • Familiarity with RF systems and clean room environments (advantage).
