JOB OVERVIEW

The Reminiscence Coordinator is responsible for providing overall leadership and management of the reminiscence neighborhood. Responsibilities include promoting excellence in resident care in accordance with each resident’s Individualized Service Plan (ISP)/Individualized Care Plan (ICP), programming, providing outreach and support to families, being resourceful and knowledgeable with the Family Resource Library and the evolving information on Alzheimer’s disease. Responsible for championing the designated care manager concept throughout the neighborhood, assisting in the recruiting, hiring, and training of team members, completing staffing, scheduling and timekeeping review, team member recognition, engagement, and performance management.

RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Resident Care and Programs: Planning, organizing, and leading the operation of the reminiscence neighborhood(s) in compliance with laws and standards. Championing quality delivery of the Resident Centered model. Acting as the community champion in reminiscence programming and activities. Partnering with the Activities and Volunteer Coordinator to ensure appropriate activities are available. Designing and facilitating dementia-appropriate activities focusing on Life Skills. Addressing residents' clinical needs in collaboration with the Resident Care Director. Reviewing resident preferences and needs, and facilitating Family Meetings. Developing and overseeing the ISP/ICP and Daily Assignment Sheets. Managing assessments, planning family events, and understanding resident condition changes. Documenting resident information and establishing relationships with community organizations such as the Alzheimer’s Association.
  • Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring compliance with applicable laws and standards. Developing plans to address deficiencies. Maintaining knowledge of current regulations and ensuring adherence. Promoting safety procedures and OSHA compliance.
  • Financial Management: Assisting with community budget preparation. Managing department budgets, reviewing financial statements, and controlling expenses. Coordinating staff scheduling and understanding internal costs of care programs.
  • Training, Leadership, and Team Member Development: Managing department staffing, training, and coaching. Ensuring all team members complete required paperwork and training. Leading engagement initiatives, conducting performance reviews, and maintaining compliance with training requirements. Participating in meetings and staying current with professional development.
Qualifications:
  • College degree preferred.
  • One year of supervisory experience preferred, including dementia care, staff hiring, coaching, and daily operations supervision.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and delegate effectively.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Sunrise applications.
  • Availability to work weekends, evenings, and flexible hours.
