Orlick Industries is seeking a Melt Room Operator to manage the furnace and melting process for aluminum ingots, ensuring safe operation and product quality. The role requires forklift use and the ability to work near molten metal in a heavy industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Furnace charging; working with a furnace at 1400F to properly melt aluminum to a molten state.
• Ensuring the holding furnaces are operating at their best capacity by: charge well fluxing, fluxing of holding bath, routine channel cleaning (rodding).
• Cleaning the floor of reverb from build-up of metal; taking spectrometer samples.
• Inspecting all scrap bin contents before charging to ensure they are dry and free of debris.
• Using a forklift in a safe manner; ensuring valid license is maintained for forklift.
• Placing ingots onto the stacker, strapping bundles with metal banding, and applying recycled aluminum control tag.
• Completing all necessary paperwork/documentation and utilizing the appropriate computerized systems/ readings.
• Housekeeping of work area; keeping it clean and free of debris.
