Job Summary

To provide medical secretarial support services to assigned physicians at the Odette Cancer Centre. Duties include O.R. booking and scheduling; typing correspondence, CVs, teaching dossiers, grants, and manuscript submissions; preparing presentation packages; coordinating physician schedules, meetings, seminars, and conferences; responding to enquiries, monitoring and assisting patients; setting up and maintaining files; arranging accommodations; and providing clerical support services for the programs.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Successful completion of a recognized Medical Office Administration program/diploma or equivalent at the community college level, plus a minimum of two (2) years of related practical experience.
  • Previous experience managing O.R. bookings and scheduling.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook and Word; Excel preferred.
  • Accurate keyboarding skills with a minimum net speed of 40 wpm.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in English grammar.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
