Job summary

The University of Alberta Hospital, operated by Alberta Health Services, is seeking a Medical Radiation Technologist I. In this role you will perform radiological imaging studies, interpret requisitions, prepare patients and produce high-quality images for review by physicians and radiologists.

The position is Regular Part Time (0.70 FTE) with shifts including Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends and On Call. Start date 21 September 2026; shifts are 7.75 hours; posting ends 9 September 2026;

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited MRT diploma program.
• Active or eligible for registration with ACMDTT.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform standard radiological imaging examinations on patients.
• Interpret physician requisitions and prepare patients for examination.
• Produce high quality diagnostic images for review by physicians/radiologists.
• Assist with care and maintenance of imaging equipment and adapt imaging procedures as needed.

Description

As a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) I, you will perform a variety of standard technical radiological imaging examinations on patients for the purpose of disease and pathology diagnosis. You will interpret physician requisitions, prepare and assess patients for examination and produce high quality diagnostic images for Physician/Radiologist review, and assist with the care and maintenance of equipment. Your work may include a variety of procedures such as general and portable radiography, mobile and surgical suite examinations, as well as fluoroscopy where required.
