Job summary

Mount Sinai Hospital (Toronto) is seeking a Medical Radiation Technologist, CT, to join the Joint Department of Medical Imaging. The role involves performing outpatient CT scans, collaborating with X-ray and Interventional Radiology teams, and providing coverage for the Emergency Department and Inpatients.

You will contribute to education and training across sites. The ideal candidate is registered or eligible with CMRITO, holds CAMRT credentials, and complies with BCLS Level II.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

About The Medical Imaging Department

Mount Sinai Hospital’s Medical Imaging Department provides a state‑of‑the‑art environment for leading edge clinical practice, teaching, and research programs in Radiography. An international leader in medical imaging, we conduct a large volume of various types of Radiography exams for patient populations from the Emergency department to Outpatients and Inpatients.

In This Role You Will

• Perform medical imaging procedures
• Operate, troubleshoot and ensure medical imaging and ancillary equipment are performing in an effective and efficient manner
• Prepare written and electronic reports required documenting all procedures and test results
• Participate in teaching, educational, research, safety and quality improvement programs/activities
• Perform other related patient care responsibilities to facilitate the provision of optimal patient care
• Perform other duties consistent with the job classification as required

Job Requirements

Mandatory

• Completion of an accredited degree/post diploma Radiological Technology program, or recognized equivalent
• Consideration for hire may also be given to applicants currently enrolled in an accredited degree/post diploma Radiological Technology program – as a condition of hire the Radiological Technology program must be successfully completed within six (6) months of hire
• Certificate of registration in the specialty of Radiography from the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)
• Currently registered and in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)
• Completion of a Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) program, Level II: Basic Rescuer certification

Preferred

• Level 2 and 3 CT
• Membership with the CAMRT

Skills and Knowledge

• Ability to perform peripheral IV insertions
• Demonstrated excellent critical thinking, decision making and problem solving skills
• Ability to multi-task and work effectively as a team member and work effectively and efficiently in a fast paced environment.
