Job summary

WELL Health Diagnostic Centres in Calgary, AB, seeks a Medical Radiation Technologist (Nuclear Medicine/BMD) for a permanent full-time role at 1016 68 Ave SW Suite 210. You will perform nuclear medicine procedures, BMD exams, and operate gamma cameras, supporting physicians with high-quality diagnostic imaging.

The position requires 37.5 hours per week, day/evening shifts with some weekends, and offers a wage of 43 CAD per hour.

Qualifications

  • College/CEGEP or other 1–2 year program in Medical Radiation Technology.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required.
  • Strong English communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with nuclear medicine procedures is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain company standards for quality, confidentiality, and turnaround times.
  • Ensure patient comfort and confidence in the centre and staff.
  • Prepare reports and respond to technical questions, adhering to procedures.
  • Operate and maintain imaging equipment; participate in QC/QA tests.

Job Title: Medical Radiation Technologist (Nuclear Medicine Technologist/Bone Mineral Density Technologist)

Reporting to: Clinic Leader / Regional Leader

Locations: 1016 68 Ave SW Suite 210, Calgary, AB T2V4J2

Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time

Hours of Work: 37.5 Work hours per Week (Day, Evening, Flexible Hours, Overtime, Weekend)

Wage: $43 CAD per hour

NOC: 32121

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain all company standards including quality of work and results, test procedure and methodology, turn-around time, confidentiality of test results; assist and/or provide training as required.
  • Ensure patients comfort and confidence in the competence and professionalism of the centre and its staff.
  • Prepare reports for the information; answer technical questions, carrying out any necessary information Demonstrate knowledge on company procedures and standards; including procedures relating to the performance and documentation of examinations, booking system reporting procedures, turn-around time, equipment, and methods used in other company centers, and the amount of training required to attain familiarity.
  • Operates and maintains equipment via participation in Quality Control and Quality Assurance tests.
  • Ensure personal development through training courses and/or training appropriately to upgrade technical skills, abilities and knowledge.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities that may be assigned and ability to work in various shifts.
  • May perform BMD examinations. (Only applicable to BMD Technologists)
  • May perform radiation detection through gamma cameras, scanners, scintillation counters, tomodensitometers and ionization chambers, to acquire data for use by nuclear medicine physicians in the diagnosis of disease. (Only applicable to Nuclear Medicine Technologists)
Qualifications, Experience & Requirements:
  • College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • Work Experience: 1 to less than 7 months
  • Current and valid Certificate of Registration with the Association of Medical Radiation Technologists of the relevant
  • province.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in general nuclear medicine procedures.
  • Maintain current CPR and First Aid certificate.
  • Maintain competence in position by attending staff meetings.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal awareness & skills, good command of the English language and excellent
  • communication skills, accuracy, dependable, flexible, judgement, reliable and team player, attention to detail.
  • Ability to work varying shifts and ability to work independently as well as part of a team and in a fast paced
  • environment.
  • Self-evaluate performance, establish personal objectives and participate in yearly staff performance review.
